Jabegote

„Jabegote" ist ein Flamenco-Stil, der zur Gruppe der „cantes malagueños" gehört. „Jabegote" stammt aus dem „fandango", wie alle Flamenco-Gesänge aus Málaga, z. B. „verdiales aflamencados" und „bandolás".

 

Jabegote geht aus den Fischer-Gesängen hervor: Arbeitslieder, deren Themen in Zusammenhang mit ihrem Alltag auf dem Festland stehen. Das Wort „Jabegote" kommt aus einer Art von Fischernetz.

 

Das Hauptmerkmal des „Jabegotes" war, dass der dritte Vers, der sogenannte „verso valiente" in hohen Tönen gesungen wurde. Ihre renommiertsten Sänger waren: el Niño de las Moras und Juan Breva. Miguel López Castro ist zurzeit ein Gelehrte und Sänger dieses Stils.
