Garrotín

„Garrotín“ ist ein Flamenco-Stil, der aus der asturischen Folklore stammt. Es würde geglaubt, dass dieser Stil durch die Roma von Lérida entwickelt wurde. Später in Barcelona. Laut dieser Theorie wäre „garrotín" der einzige Tanz und Gesang, der nicht in Andalusien geboren ist (außer „rumba" und „jaleo“).

 

Wahrscheinlich wurde „garrotín“ in den Flamenco durch die katalanischen Roma eingeführt, weil ihr Ursprung in dem Tango-Rhythmus ist. Sie hat ein lebendiges Rhythmus in hohem Schlüssel.

 

„Garrotín" hatte einen großen Ruf bis zu ihrem Verschwinden in den dreißigen Jahren. Carmen Amaya hielt diesen Gesang lebendig und ermöglichte ihre Erholung in den siebziger Jahren. Der Gesang wird von einem Tanz begleitet, der in den frühen Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts seinen Höhepunkt hatte. Seine Struktur besteht aus Strophen von vier achtsilbigen Versen und reimt den zweiten und vierten Vers und wiederholt einen Refrain unter ihnen.
