Tanguillo

“Tanguillo” is a folk variant of tangos of Cádiz. A flamenco style originated in Cadiz. It belongs to the group of polyrhythmic styles. Lyrics are ironic, humorous and satirical even though they are always festive, for having a funny time. It is carnival typical folklore, renewing every year its repertoire, with current affairs.

 

Unlike singing as a musical accompaniment, when it is just for dancing, it maintains its flamenco category without influences of any kind. Couplet singing can support any metric with a polymetric chorus.

 

Dance has very rhythmic movements with short walks. It has been adapted to theater.
