Tablao Ópera Flamenca

Tablao Ópera Flamenca, the only venue with its own theater and tavern in the heart of Madrid
Located in the San Bernardo neighborhood, right in the center of Madrid, Tablao Ópera Flamenca is a truly unique space. Unlike other tablaos, this project was born out of a desire to stand out in today’s flamenco scene, reviving the essence of the grand shows that defined an era between 1920 and 1955: the Flamenco Opera.
During that period, flamenco was performed in bullrings and theaters, in large-scale productions that brought this art form to audiences across Spain and the world’s major cities. It was a time of creative openness and popular success, when much of what is now considered the classical flamenco repertoire emerged. Legends such as Manuel Torre, Antonio Chacón, Pepe Marchena, La Niña de los Peines, and Manolo Caracol were central figures of this movement.
Inspired by that golden age, Tablao Ópera Flamenca brings back its spirit with a stage production that combines tradition with carefully crafted staging. The venue includes its own theater and an adjoining tavern, located in two connected spaces totaling nearly 400 m². The theater is designed with tiered seating, ensuring excellent visibility from every point in the room. Additionally, VIP tables at stage level offer a more intense and intimate experience for the audience.
Under the artistic direction of Salvador Barrul, the tablao hosts renowned performers from today’s flamenco scene in shows featuring dance, singing, guitar, violin, percussion, and backing vocals. It also includes theatrical surprises that pay tribute to the rich stagecraft of the Flamenco Opera.
With an intimate and immersive atmosphere, Tablao Ópera Flamenca offers an experience designed both for flamenco enthusiasts and those discovering it for the first time. A show that brings history to life every night, in the very heart of Madrid.
