Tablao Torres Bermejas
Tablao Flamenco Torres Bermejas is the most important tablao in the world. It is located right in the historical centre of Madrid, in the same place as the oldest tablao of Madrid “La Taberna Gitana”, which opened in 1949.
Torres Bermejas is an unique place because of its stunning room, whose decoration reproduces the interior of Torres Bermejas of the Alhambra in Granada with Arabic motifs, tiles and wooden coffered ceilings.
As well as a memorable artistic history, with the launch to fame of the greatest flamenco in recent times, as Camarón, who acted here for 12 years and where he met the guitarist Paco de Lucía. Another memorable artists such as Manolo Caracol debuted on 1st February 1962. Most recently appeared the singer José Mercé. We can't forget other artists such as “La Chunga”,“La Paquera”,“Fosforito”,“El Güito”, Mario Maya, “Pansequito”, Enrique de Melchor, Niño Ricardo, Paco Cepero, Chato de la Isla and more recently, the young guitarist Juan Habichuela Nieto.
The flamenco show of Torres Bermejas is recognized by the Journalism Club “Garbanzo de Plata”, which was founded by the same time as the tablao. Since them, they have granted outstanding artistic personalities from cultural, sport field, etc. from Spain and the rest of the world. Torres Bermejas has attract the attention of national and international personalities. It was also the stage for film productions such as El tiempo entre costuras and Camarón.
