Glossary of flamenco
“Verdiales” are a very old flamenco expression, with peasant origin. Its nature is socio-musical deprivation in certain geographical areas of Malaga (Axarquia, Montes de Malaga and the Guadalhorce Valley).
Minera is a flamenco style from the mining area of Sierra Cartagena-La Union and developed in the 19th century.
Information about seguiriya. It is one of the oldest palos of flamenco. The name derives from "seguidilla". The principal areas are Jerez, and Triana in Seville.
Cantiñas is a group of “palos” flamencos which are characteristic of Cadiz, los Puertos and Jerez de la Frontera.
