Campanilleros
“Campanilleros” is a flamenco style which is based on a traditional Andalusian song: “Campanilleros”. It is a couplet composed by six verses, and its creation is owed to Niño Ricardo.
The oldest example of this style is found in Manuel Torre's work, but gained popularity with “La Niña de la Puebla”. There are other well-known authors, who sang this song: "El Agujeta" and Juan Varea. Today just few singers perform this style: Jose Merce, Rosa Lopez, Jose Meneses. This song was also performed by Rocio Jurado.
“Campanilleros” has also more modern versions, such as the one performed by the Spanish Indie Rock Band "Supersubmarina".
