Corríos
“Corrios” are one of the oldest flamenco styles. It was originated in the medieval Castilian romances.
Its name is owed to the Andalusian gypsies from the 18th century. When singers began to develop their most personal compositions, “corríos” became into “toná”. Thus their topics and sound changed, becoming the original singing for the following "cantes gitano-jerezanos", especially “martinete” and “saeta”.
