Vito

„Vito" ist ein Gesang, Tanz und traditionelle Musik aus Andalusien. Er bezieht sich auf die Krankheit des St. Vitus Tanzes wegen der lebendigen Charakter dieses Tanzes. Seine Melodie wird in einer 3/8 Taktart gelaufen und wird in harmonischen Moll für die Aufstiegsmotiven und dem Phrygischen Modus für die Fallenden. Auf diese Weise wurde eine harmonische Begleitung erzeugt, die auf der andalusischen Kadenz basiert. „Vito" wird mit ernsten oder witzigen Texten gesungen.

 

Zwischen Mitte und Ende des 20. Jahrhunderts galt „vito" als ein Tanz aus Cordoba, weil das Aufleben dieses Stils in Córdoba stattgefunden wurde. Manuel Medina González, in seiner Arbeit "Córdoba de Córdoba", äußert, dass Maruja Cazalla, Leiterin einer andalusischen Volkstanz-Schule in Córdoba, den „Vito" in Córdoba wiederbelebt. Der ersten Schülerin von Rita Fragero war diejenige, die diese traditionellen Tanz in Andalusien wiederbelebte.

 

Während der Zeiten des spanischen Bürgerkriegs wurde die Melodie des „Vito" von der republikanischen Seite benutzt, um zu Ehren des fünften Regiments zu singen. Die neue Version wurde bei der Zivilbevölkerung sehr beliebt.
